The Institute for Studies in Global Prosperity (ISGP) is a non-profit organization, dedicated to building capacity in individuals, groups and institutions to contribute to prevalent discourses concerned with the betterment of society. Drawing on both science and religion as two complementary systems of knowledge and practice, learning environments are created where knowledge and experience can be shared and systematized. Principles, concepts and approaches that are relevant to the advancement of civilization are explored through a process of study, reflection and consultation. Founded in 1999—and working in collaboration with the Bahá’í International Community—the Institute also engages in learning about the methods, approaches and instruments which can best be employed to contribute to the discourses of society.
Seminars for University Graduates
In addition to the sequence of undergraduate seminars, the Institute also offers a seminar for university graduates. The seminar is approximately 12 days long.
The purpose of the graduate seminar is to raise the capacity of young adults to participate more effectively in the discourses of society, as a means of contributing to the advancement of civilization. The graduate seminar consists of three interwoven and mutually reinforcing strands of material that are studied in a collaborative manner. The first strand examines one’s approach to participating in the discourses of society. The second strand examines core concepts that can inform one’s participation in diverse discourses. And the third strand explores specific discourses, and the development of initial frameworks for participating in them.
